How Much Does the VA Pay for Disabilities – 2023

Video Transcript

The amount the VA pays depends on your disability rating. And then there is extra compensation for dependents, which can be a spouse, children, or parents. A 100% disabled veteran with no dependents in 2023 will receive $3,621.95 per month. The amount of extra compensation for each dependent depends on how high your rating is, and whether the dependent is a spouse, parent, or a child under 18 or over 18. For example, to give you an idea, in 2023, the VA will pay a veteran with a 100% rating an extra $201.94 for a spouse. $162.07 for a parent, $100.34 for children under 18, and $324.12 for children over 18 in a qualifying school program.
