If you’re filing for VA disability, there are multiple pieces of vital paperwork you must submit in order to make sure your claim is approved.
First, your service records. Your service records prove when and where you served.
If your condition started during service, you’ll need records showing that connection.
Next, medical records. If you were treated for your condition during or after service, these documents help prove your claim. If you see a private doctor, ask for copies of your records.
A nexus letter from a doctor can be critical. This letter explains how your condition is connected to your service. Without it, the VA may deny your claim for lack of evidence.
Once you’ve gathered all these documents, you’re ready to fill out VA Form 21-526EZ. This is the standard disability claim form that you must file in order to start your claim.
Submitting all your documents together can speed up the process and strengthen your claim.
